About the event
TALIA JONES shares her own journey from alcoholism to recovery, and examines the challenges to diagnosis, treatment, and remission among people of color. Talia currently works as a Program Coordinator for NET Centers organizational advancement team and has supported several initiatives to help those with addictions gain access to treatment and recovery support. A nonprofit agency, NET provides a continuum of trauma informed behavioral health and social services that include mental health, addiction treatment, foster care, residential group care, adoption, juvenile justice services and child welfare services.
Talia is a graduate student in Thomas Jefferson University’s Community and Trauma Counseling Program, with a concentration in Addictions, Trauma, and Recovery. Upon completion, she will become a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Addictions Counselor. She was recently awarded a fellowship into the National Board of Certified Counselor’s 2023 Minority Fellowship Program for Addictions Counselors, where she receives mentorship and training geared toward…
